Michael Skubala highlights Archie Gray's Leeds United qualities

Leeds United Under-21s head coach Michael Skubala has praised the fight of midfielder Archie Gray.

The 16-year-old started in the Whites' 5-1 thrashing of Nottingham Forest at Thorp Arch on Monday, which saw Leeds continue their unbeaten start to the Premier League 2 Division 2 season. The Whites top the table with three wins and a draw from their first four games.

Charlie Allen, Darko Gyabi, Sonny Perkins, Alfie McCalmont and Max Dean were on target as Leeds came from behind to thump a winless Forest side. Gray started in midfield and once again showed his quality on the ball to highlight why he is so highly-thought of by those at the club. However, it was the teenager's fight that stood out against Forest.

"He's got that," said Skubala. "He's maturing really well. He's a really talented player who is maturing all the time.

"He's been playing as a ten, playing as a six, but today as the game went on, he really grew into the game and you saw his quality come out.

"First and foremost, he's brilliant at the basics and that's trying to win balls and trying to fight - he's got that in abundance as a young player. We say 'young player', but I just see him as another player, he's just another professional."
