Michael Sheen shares first baby picture and thanks midwives in Swansea

Michael Sheen has had a baby daugher with his 25-year-old partner, the star has announced.

The Good Omens star took to Twitter to announce the baby's name on Monday morning, and to thank staff at hospitals in Swansea and Neath Port Talbot.

He said that baby Lyra had been born at 8.41am on Monday, September 23.

And added: "Thank you so much to Louise & all the brilliant midwives at both the Singleton and NeathPortTalbot hospitals."

A second tweet said: "On behalf of Anna and myself thanks to everyone for your lovely messages of congratulations. It’s been a wonderful, bleary-eyed week full of love and kindness and extraordinary poo."

Micahel and aspiring Swedish actress Anna Lundberg had only announced their baby news two months ago.

Anna showed off her baby bump when she joined her partner in Cardiff in July for the Homeless World Cup.

In a tweet, Sheen, 50, said at the time: "Very happy to let everyone know that my partner Anna and I are expecting a little angel of our own. (Just to be clear - we’re having a baby!) #nottheantichrist"

Michael already has a daughter , Lily, from his relationship with former partner Kate Beckinsale, is 20 years old.

At the weekend, his father, Meyrick, who lives in Port Talbot with his wife Irene, confirmed the happy news to WalesOnline but didn't reveal any further details.

He said: "Irene and I are thrilled to bits - it's great news."
