Michael Sheen doing the Joker steps dance to Catatonia is the best Welsh video you'll see all week

Michael Sheen' has paid homage to Joaquin Phoenix's iconic Joker dance with an amazing routine set to Catatonia's International Velvet.

The Port Talbot actor is a team captain on Sky One quiz show, There's Something About Movies, and each week contestants have to recreate iconic scenes from blockbuster films.

In one of the latest episodes the Prodigal Son star and fellow team captain, Jennifer Saunders, must recreate the moment from the Oscar-winning film, in which Phoenix stars as a troubled comedian, outcast from society who embraces a life of crime, when he dances down a set of steps in the Bronx.

In the actual film he dances to Gary Glitter's Rock and Roll Part 2. Thankfully, Sheen and Saunders were able to pick their own tune to dance to and the Welsh actor pulled a blinder as in sinister Joker make-up he kicks and dances to the brilliant lyrics of International Velvet.

The percussive build-up to Sheen revealing his Joker make-up is cool enough, but we reckon if Joaquin dropped out of a potential sequel, Sheen is a shoo-in.

You can see his routine here, at 3 minutes 42 seconds:

Jennifer Saunders' dance was to Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep, a valiant effort, but Sheen's strutting and jubilantly creepy dance won the round.

There's Something About Movies often gets the Staged star to impersonate or dress up as brilliant film characters and recreate scenes from Hollywood movies, he's also taken on Matthew McConaughey's chest-thumping scene from Wolf of Wall Street and Anne Bancroft's Mrs Robinson from The Graduate.

It's hosted by Alan Carr and has regular panellist Tom Allen as well as a host of guests from film, TV and comedy.

You can catch up with the Joker episode of There's Something About Movies, on Sky One, which is available on NowTV.
