Michael Schumacher undergoing 'secret treatment' in hospital

Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher was admitted to a hospital in Paris for “secret treatment” on Monday.

A report from Le Parisien claims the legendary German driver, who turned 50 earlier this year, will receive cutting-edge stem-cell therapy from renowned French surgeon Philippe Menasche.

The Georges-Pompidou hospital in southwest Paris could not comment on a report due to France’s strict medical privacy rules.

Schumacher suffered a near-fatal brain injury in a 2013 skiing accident in the French Alps, but his condition has since stabilised after being placed in an induced coma.

But he has now been moved from his home in Lake Geneva, with treatment at the Paris hospital set to take place on Tuesday.

Schumacher’s family released a statement in January stating he was in “the very best of hands”.

His long-time manager Sabine Kehm did not respond to emailed requests for comment.
