Feb. 11--Chicago, being the epicenter of flyover country in the eyes of the film studios, won't be showing "Fifty Shades of Grey" to critics until tonight, several days after L.A. and New York have gotten a (whip) crack at it. But that means we've had a little extra time to read, and re-read, the E L James novel (i.e., the "ur-text") in preparation for the film version. There are pearls on just about every page of this thing.
