Former Newcastle United striker Michael Owen has offered up his view on Joelinton and Miguel Almiron after a rough start to the season.
The Magpies were expecting more from Almiron and their new record signing Joelinton, but both have flattered to deceive through their first two matches of the 2019/20 Premier League season.
Newcastle began the new campaign with a 1-0 defeat at home to Arsenal, before they suffered a disappointing 3-1 loss at Norwich City last Saturday.
Owen also anticipates another struggle away from home for the Magpies this Sunday when they face Spurs, with the former England forward issuing a Joelinton and Almiron message ahead of the fixture.
"Spurs rode their luck at the Etihad at the weekend but played their part in a wonderful game of football and I expect them to have too much quality for a Newcastle side who have disappointed me so far this season," Owen, who has predicted Spurs to win to nil, explained in his weekly BetVictor blog.
"The Magpies need more from their expensive signings Joelinton – who spurned a gilt-edged opportunity at Carrow Road – and Miguel Almiron but they may need more time to gel. In the meantime, I can’t see anything other than a comfortable home win."
