Michael Owen's Premier League predictions - with thrillers at Liverpool and Arsenal

Ex-Liverpool forward Michael Owen is backing his former club to record a 17th successive Premier League victory at home to Leicester on Saturday, although he says they won't have it all their own way.

The Reds came out on top in a topsy-turvy 4-3 thriller against Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League in midweek, and Owen can see the Foxes scoring in what will be Brendan Rodgers' first return to Anfield since being sacked as Liverpool manager in 2015.

Leicester earned a 1-1 draw at Anfield in January as the Reds dropped what proved to be valuable points in their Premier League title challenge last season.

And while Owen can see the visitors causing trouble again, he has backed Liverpool to win with both teams finding the net in his tips for the Bet Victor blog.

"I expect the Foxes’ to play their part in what promises to be a terrific game between two inform sides," he said.

The ex-England star has gone for similar outcomes at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, as Arsenal host Eddie Howe's Bournemouth off the back of a confidence-boosting 4-0 Europa League win over Standard Liege.

Owen sees Unai Emery's men conceding to the Cherries, but is confident that they'll come out on top despite both sides getting on the scoresheet.

Chelsea have also been backed to win while conceding in their game at Southampton on Sunday, while Owen sees a tighter game in prospect as Tottenham go to Brighton in the opening game of the weekend.

Off the back their 7-2 thrashing at home to Bayern Munich, Owen sees Mauricio Pochettino's men shoring things up on the south coast and winning either 1-0 or 2-0 in a game of few goals, while he sees fewer than two goals as Manchester United go to Newcastle .

Owen has also backed wins for Burnley , West Ham and Manchester City , and draws between Norwich and Aston Villa and Watford and Sheffield United.
