Michael Owen reveals what he noticed about Mohamed Salah after he ended goal drought

Michael Owen says Mohamed Salah's excitement was there for everyone to see after he ended his goal drought against Southampton.

The Liverpool striker has been struggling for goals in recent weeks but scored in his side's 3-1 victory over the Saints at St Mary's on Friday.

After hitting the back of the net the Egyptian immediately removed his shirt, which earned him a yellow card.

But Owen has pointed out that the celebration showed how relieved the former Roma man was at finally ending his goal drought - so much so that the booking didn't matter.

"You could see in his celebration the excitement and I think you could see that against Southampton," said Owen on BT Sport.

"You know you're going to get a yellow card but it doesn't matter [you think] 'I'm going to do it anyway'. He was so excited about it."
