Michael Owen reacts to daughter Gemma Owen lap dancing in ITV Love Island's racy heart rate challenge

Things got hot and steamy in the villa last night as Love Island 's sexiest challenge made a much anticipated return. The heart rate challenge saw the boys and girls compete against each other by performing racy routines to see who could raise the opposite sex's heart rates the most.

In a bid to set the boys' pulses racing, the girls dressed up in revealing outfits and performed lap dances on their fellow Islanders. Performances included dancer Tasha Ghouri as Barbie, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu in a bridal outfit and Paige Thorne in a red Baywatch-inspired costume.

The boys then took their turn as they walked out dressed up in costumes such as a police officer, gladiator and a scientist before stripping off to reveal their muscles and grinding on the girls.

During the challenge each of the Islander's heart rates were monitored, which later revealed who had set their pulse racing the most.

Michael Owen's 19-year-old daughter Gemma raised most of the boys' heart rates after dancing whilst donning a skimpy black bodysuit, a thong, stockings and red heels.

It was Jay, Luca and Gemma's ex-boyfriend Jacques whose hearts pounded the highest after the dressage rider's raunchy performance, which later caused a stir in the villa as Paige, who is currently with Jacques, seemed to think that he may still have feelings for his ex.

Michael Owen has kept pretty quiet about his daughter's appearance on the hit ITV2 show so far, but as the sexy scenes aired, the former Manchester United and Liverpool footballer finally broke his silence.

Tweeting to his 3.7 million followers on Twitter, Michael Owen shared a simple emoji in reaction to his daughter - a shocked face with hands covering its eyes - presumably signalling his awkwardness after having to watch what no father should.

Despite fans of the ITV2 show knowing who Gemma's famous dad is, the international dressage rider seemed to have kept the news under wraps amongst her fellow Islanders.

But on Sunday night, ex-Islander Ikenna Ekwonna, who left the show last week after a shock double dumping alongside Amber Beckford, revealed that the stars were told she was the daughter of Michael Owen in unaired scenes just days after they moved in.

Speaking to host Laura Whitmore on Aftersun last night, Ikenna said: "You know what's mad? We didn't really know until like the second or third day, but I don't think the girls knew that the guys knew."

This revelation prompted some viewers to speculate that the news may have influenced Luca Bish's decision to pursue Gemma early on in the series. Luca and Gemma were coupled up for over a week until bombshell Danica Taylor decided to take a chance and choose Luca in the recoupling, but the pair have since recoupled.
