Michael Owen predicts Man City vs Crystal Palace result

Manchester City will be looking to maintain their impressive Premier League form when they welcome Crystal Palace to the Etihad this weekend.

The reigning Premier League champions turned on the style in their last league outing, as a Sergio Aguero inspired performance saw them claim a 6-1 win over Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Palace come into the game on the back of a 1-1 draw with Arsenal last weekend and currently sit ninth in the table.

BT Sport pundit Michael Owen is backing City to come out on top and maintain their impressive form.

“Two more assists for Kevin de Bruyne at Villa Park on Sunday taking his tally to 15 so far this season – five more than any other player in the division – and I expect the Belgium playmaker to inspire the hosts to three more points when Palace are the visitors to the Etihad,” the former England star wrote in his BetVictor column.

“Palace, famously, won the corresponding game 3-2 last season but that was a rare win against Pep Guardiola’s side, and I would be surprised if they got anything at the weekend given the level of performance from the champions in recent weeks.

“It looks as if they will fall short in their quest for a hat-trick of Premier League titles, but they remain a magnificent side who look sure to win more silverware this term.”

Prediction: City to win and both teams to score
