Michael Owen pinpoints the Leeds United weakness Arsenal can exploit this weekend

Pundit Michael Owen believes that Leeds United will fall to a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at the weekend.

Leeds will return to Premier League action following the international break on Sunday when the Gunners visit Elland Road and Marcelo Bielsa will be hoping to see a big reaction from his side.

After an impressive 3-0 victory against high-flying Aston Villa, the Whites then lost to both Leicester City and Crystal Palace by a disappointing 4-1 score line.

It won't be easy against Arsenal, who already hold a victory over Leeds in 2020 after the 1-0 victory in the FA Cup last season.

Should Leeds United replace Kiko Casilla in January?

Kalvin Phillips, whose absence was keenly felt in the defeats, could be back in action for the match. It would be a welcomed boost for Leeds but regardless Owen still feels Arsenal will have too much for them.

"I find Leeds are exceptionally good against teams that fancy themselves to play a bit," Owen told BetVictor.

"When you come at Leeds, it plays into their hands as they have loads of energy to smother you and win key battles all over the pitch.

"They create lots of chances, but equally concede a lot as well. I think this could play into Mikel Arteta’s hands.

"If he is prepared to concede a bit of ground and soak up some Leeds pressure, I fancy the Gunners to take full advantage on the break."
