Michael Owen, Paul Merson and Mark Lawrenson agree on prediction for Liverpool vs Brighton

Liverpool will be aiming to make it five successive wins in all competitions when they welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to Anfield on Saturday.

Graham Potter’s men won this fixture last time out, however the Reds are yet to lose a game this season and will look to build on last weekend’s superb 5-0 victory over Manchester United.

The Seagulls started the campaign in impressive fashion and currently sit fifth in the Premier League table, however they’re without a win in their last five matches and lost 4-1 at home to Manchester City in their last league game.

But how do the pundits think Liverpool will get on against Potter's side?

Mark Lawrenson - BBC Sport

“Brighton have really impressed me so far and even when they were 3-0 down against Manchester City last weekend they kept going and caused City some problems," Lawrenson told BBC Sport.

“It is now 14 games unbeaten for Liverpool in all competitions this season, and they have won 11 of them.

"Whoever they play, they must think they will win because everyone is flying.”

Prediction: Liverpool 3-0 Brighton.

Paul Merson - Sportskeeda

“Brighton are a decent team and can pull off an upset on their day,” Merson told Sportskeeda.

“I think this is going to be a harder game for Liverpool than the one they played against Manchester United.

“Brighton play an expansive game and they do leave spaces down the channel for their opponents to exploit.

“I honestly can’t see Liverpool losing this game at the moment, and I’m going to go with another victory for Jurgen Klopp’s men.”

Prediction: Liverpool 3-1 Brighton.

Michael Owen - BetVictor

“I was surprised by Brighton’s result against City.” Owen told BetVictor.

“I didn’t actually think they played badly, it was just a City masterclass, which can happen to any side.

“I expect a response from Brighton here, but Liverpool will still have too much. It’ll be difficult for the Reds to match the performance of last week.”

Prediction: Liverpool 2-1 Brighton.
