Michael Owen makes Manchester United vs Man City prediction

Michael Owen has predicted that Sunday's Manchester derby will end in the first stalemate of the season.

Manchester United and Manchester City have already played each other three times this season, with each game being a thrilling encounter and a winner being declared.

The first meeting in December saw United emerge as surprise victors in the Premier League courtesy of goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

The two clubs then faced off in a two-legged Carabao Cup semi-final, with City winning the first leg 3-1 at Old Trafford before losing the reverse fixture 1-0, but still qualifying for the final where they would go on to retain the trophy.

The away side has won each of the three matches so far this season but Owen thinks the game will end in a 1-1 draw this time around.

"Recent Carabao Cup winners Manchester City travel across Manchester for their derby clash with United in the match of the weekend," Owen told BetVictor.

"They’ll be in a confident mood heading to Old Trafford but from the three matches between the sides this season, Manchester United have already won two.

"However, in what is sure to be a closely fought contest, I think the bragging rights will be shared with a goal and a point apiece."
