Michael Owen makes Liverpool FC vs Manchester United prediction

Manchester United head into their weekend match with Liverpool sweating on the fitness of Marcus Rashford .

The 22-year-old limped off during United's FA Cup third-round replay win over Wolves.

Rashford has scored 19 goals across all competitions this term and has been in fantastic form in recent weeks.

However, with Rashford struggling with knocks, he could miss the trip to Anfield, which would be a huge blow for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.

United remain the only team to have taken points from Liverpool in the Premier League this season after a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.

It's a ground that United don't hold a great record at in recent times, whilst Liverpool haven't lost at home in 51 matches.

As a result, former United striker Michael Owen is siding with the Merseysiders as two of his old teams go head to head this weekend.

Writing in his latest BetVictor predictions, he said: "Wayne Rooney scored the only goal of the game the last time Manchester United won at Anfield over four years ago, and it is hard to see past another win for Jurgen Klopp’s runaway league leaders on Sunday in the big game of the weekend.

"It is well documented that Liverpool have only dropped two points so far this season and that was in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford back in October. That stat will not be lost on Jurgen Klopp or the Reds players and supporters who will want to beat all other 19 sides en route to their first Premier League title.

"United have exciting forwards, but they lack the energy and quality of Liverpool in the middle of the field and that is where I expect the game to be won. Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 51 home league games – I expect them to make it 52 and counting in one of the most iconic games of the season.

"Tip:  Liverpool -1"
