Michael Owen makes Arsenal and Tottenham Europa League predictions

Arsenal return to European action on Thursday night when they take on Rapid Vienna.

The Gunners travel to Austria for the Europa League Group B clash looking to bounce back from their defeat to Manchester City at the weekend.

Former Liverpool and Manchester United forward Michael Owen is backing Mikel Arteta's men to their campaign off to a winning start with a 1-0 victory.

The Betvictor ambassador said: "Mikel Arteta is most likely to make some changes here, and with his side playing well, I can see the Londoners coming away with maximum points."

Arsenal's north London rivals Tottenham are also in action after navigating their way through the qualifying rounds.

Jose Mourinho's side take on LASK at home in Group B, and Owen thinks they will prove too hot to handle for their Austrian opponents.

"Spurs come into their first European fixture of the season after an indifferent start to their domestic campaign," he said.

"Jose Mourinho’s men will see this as a more than achievable three points, and possibly more significantly, as a springboard into their next Premier League fixture against Burnley.

"On their day LASK can be a tricky side to play against, but I feel Tottenham will have too much here."

Leicester are the other Premier League side in action when they face Zorya Luhansk on home turf.

Owen added: "The Foxes welcome Zorya to the King Power looking to shake off a couple of poor domestic results.

"Jamie Vardy could return here, and if Leicester can rediscover their early season form, I think they’ll take the points."

Meanwhile, Celtic host Serie A giants AC Milan, while Rangers are in action against Standard Liege.
