Michael Owen issues prediction for Manchester United's FA Cup replay against Wolves

Former Manchester United striker Michael Owen believes that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will lead his side through to the FA Cup fourth round by beating Wolves on Wednesday evening.

The two Premier League outfits played out a goalless draw at Molineux earlier this month but a winner will be decided in the replay, with extra-time and penalties on the cards if required.

While Wolves knocked United out of the FA Cup last season at the quarter-final stage, Owen believes that Solskjaer will secure revenge this time around, with the winner going on to face either Tranmere Rovers or Watford in the next round.

As he explained, Wolves have found goals difficult to come by recently, while United showed their class against relegation-threatened Norwich City at the weekend.

"Manchester United have scored four times in their last two home league games, but I feel two might be enough to see them through to the fourth round against a Wolves side who have gone a bit cold in front of goal in recent weeks – just two scored in their last four winless games," he told BetVictor.

"The original tie 10 days ago at Molineux was a disappointing affair, but I would be surprised if we saw a similar game at Old Trafford.

"When they are on song, United have pace and quality in abundance, although they remain light on numbers and class in midfield. I expect United to win a cracking Cup tie and go into the weekend game at Anfield on the front foot."
