Michael Owen explains why Liverpool's front three should stay at Anfield

Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen has urged the club's front three to remain at Anfield for their own benefit, detailing how well they work as a unit.

Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino have all starred for the Reds in recent seasons, which has seen each of them linked with a lucrative exit away from Merseyside.

However, Owen believes they should remain at the club for the benefit of their career and believes a large part of their effectiveness is how well they compliment each other.

"I just think this current three, a bit like the Liverpool team really, it just clicks," he said on the Savage Social podcast.

"If you lifted individual players and put them into different teams within the Premier League would they be as good without each other?

"It is debatable and probably arguable that you would say no. This team just gels so well with each other and I think that the attacking players benefit so much from the fullbacks that are really attacking players.

"The midfielders give a really solid foundation. I just think everything gels so well. To the eye, this three probably beat most attacking units over the years."
