Michael Owen has claimed England stars Mason Mount and Phil Foden are developing into two of the best players in world football.
The two attack-minded midfield stars helped their respective clubs through to this season’s Champions League final with each offering standout performances.
Mount netted Chelsea’s second goal in Wednesday’s 2-0 victory over Real Madrid and he has been pivotal throughout his side’s run to the showpiece, which will be on 29 May in Istanbul.
Foden has been equally instrumental for Manchester City this season and is developing into one of the first names on Pep Guardiola’s teamsheet.

One of the two stars will be a European champion by the end of the month but Owen believes that both are firmly on the path to stardom and will be at the top level for many years.
Owen told BT Sport: “It's so exciting for the summer of course with England. I think Mason Mount, and Phil Foden for that matter, are going to be two of the best players in the world in the future. They're that good. It's going to be so exciting to watch that.”
Owen was then quizzed over how Mount and Foden compared to Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, who have starred for Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund respectively.
Owen responded: “They're going to get there, Mount is a phenomenal player - but Foden can be one of the best players England has ever seen.”

The former England striker was then asked about how he thought the final might pan out: “Yeah it's horses for courses. Man City are the best team in Europe, I have no doubt about that.
"If it was a two-legged game, you would back City even more. But a one-off game they have the tools to hurt anybody (Chelsea).
“It will be a fantastic tactical battle, two great minds of football going head to head.”
