Michael Owen and Mark Lawrenson send Arsenal warning ahead of Burnley clash

Michael Owen and Mark Lawrenson both think that Arsenal will drop points in Saturday’s clash against Burnley, emphasising that it will be a difficult game against Sean Dyche's side.

The Gunners finally got going in the Premier League last weekend after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang came to Mikel Arteta’s rescue when he scored the game’s only goal against fellow early strugglers, Norwich City.

Victory at the Emirates Stadium ended a run of three straight defeats in the league, and Arteta will be hoping his side can win consecutive games for the first time this season on Saturday.

However, according to both Owen and Lawrenson, Arsenal will struggle at Turf Moor – a ground where Arteta is yet to experience a win as a manager.

Speaking to Bet Victor, Owen said that he has been disappointed with Arsenal’s performances so far, and that they will struggle to deal with what will likely be a hostile crowd. Thus, he has predicted they will go onto lose the game 2-1.

"Arsenal may have got the win against Norwich last week, but I’m still not overly impressed with them," Owen stated.

"A club like Arsenal should be scoring a lot more than just one goal through the opening four games. There’s been a lot of changes in the team and a settled side should help them.

"Turf Moor will be in good voice for this game.

"Those fans love the visit of the big teams, and Arsenal are always vulnerable on these sorts of away trips. I fancy Burnley to get a vital three points here."

Meanwhile, Lawrenson doesn’t think Arsenal will lose the game, but instead will draw, with the hosts buoyed by a new four-year contract for Dyche.

"Sean Dyche's new contract is great news for Burnley. They need him more than ever this season if they are going to stay up,” he told the BBC.

"The Clarets played quite well against Everton on Monday, just like they did against Liverpool at the start of the season, but they did not get anything out of either game.

"I think that might change on Saturday, though. Arsenal got a first goal, and a first win, against Norwich - but this is going to be a very different game, and it will be a real test for them."

Arteta will be hoping he can prove the two pundits wrong as Arsenal search for a desperately needed three points.
