Michael O'Connor named in Hibernian Development Squad team against Celtic

Michael O'Connor was named in a Hibernian Development Squad on Thursday.

The Linfield striker was included as a 'trialist' in the Hibs' starting XI for the game against Celtic.

O'Connor recently returned from a loan spell with League of Ireland club Waterford.

Blues boss David Healy said the Republic of Ireland Under 21 forward would enjoy as rest as he cannot play for Linfield until the January window opens.

But now Healy and Linfield have given the green light for O'Connor to go on trial with Hibs.

The Scottish Premiership basement side, who sacked manager Paul Heckingbottom this week, have struggled for goals this season and haven't won a league game since the opening day of the season.

O'Connor started his career at Dundalk before moving to Shamrock Rovers where he had a loan spell with Finn Harps.

He then joined Linfield in July 2018 before moving to Waterford earlier this year.

He was previously linked with moves to Dundee and Ross County.
