Heading into today’s action at the Team Rose Shootout it appeared Bogan had an excellent shot at being ranked No. 1 on Sunday night.

The Bengals have beaten Simeon and Morgan Park this season, but they couldn’t get past Notre Dame. The Dons pulled off a 58-56 win without injured star guard Anthony Sayles.

It’s huge,” Notre Dame junior Troy D’Amico said. “Without Anthony everybody had to step up. It’s scary to think how good we can be when he comes back and we are at full strength.”

Louis Lesmond (11 points, six rebounds) made two free throws with three seconds left to seal the win. Junior Troy D’Amico scored 19 and had five rebounds. Jason Bergstrom added 14 points.

Bogan led by seven points with 6:21 to play. D’Amico scored five points to cut the lead to to three and the Dons fought back from there.

“We really had to focus on stopping [Bloxton],” D’Amico said. “We made sure we were knocking down our shots when they really mattered.”

Bloxton finished with 27 points and Darrion Jones added 11 for the Bengals.

Westinghouse 61, St. Ignatius 59: Devin Davis wins it with a coast-to-coast drive and bucket with 2.3 seconds to play.

“I was going to shoot it, that’s what I do is shoot threes, but I saw I had the whole baseline so I drove and tried to avoid the charge,” Davis said. “It feels great to bounce back after the Orr loss. This is a nice win for the team.”

The Warriors trailed by ten after three quarters. Devin Davis scored 20 and Martell Webb added 10. Dan Florey led the Wolfpack with 17 points.

Leo 73, Kenwood 63: The Broncos led for a good stretch of this game but were undone by picking up two technicals in the fourth quarter. Kendale Anderson was dominant in the post and finished with 27 points. Terrence Ford, a transfer from Orr, added 19. Kenwood’s Darnell King, a 6-5 senior, senior, continued his breakout season with 23 points.

Hyde Park 57, Romeoville 35: Jalen Houston and Lamont Wiliams each scored 15 for the Thunderbirds. Destin Whitaker and Dakoda Joachim didn’t play for the Spartans.
