Michael Moore dropped by "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" on Thursday night to give a first look at his upcoming documentary centered around President Trump _ and to reassure everyone he isn't pulling any punches.
When Colbert inquired about whether Moore was "civil" during his attempt to infiltrate Mar-a-Lago, as shared in a clip brought by the director, Moore answered affirmatively. Sort of.
"I was as civil as any Eagle Scout, Catholic altar boy could be when confronted with the devil," he said.
Moore's feelings about Trump come as no surprise, particularly given the ignominious comparison implied by the film's title, "Fahrenheit 11/9."
A reference to the day that Trump was announced as president, it echoes the name of Moore's documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11," which detailed the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
"Sadly, Trump is not going to leave," he told Colbert, after sharing how he despaired each day at the news. "He plans to be reelected. He loves the term 'president for life.' The only way that we're going to stop this is eventually we're all going to have to put our bodies on the line. You're going to have to be willing to do this."
"Fahrenheit 11/9" is scheduled for theatrical release Sept. 21.
