Michael Mols issues Alfredo Morelos warning to Feyenoord as former Rangers star predicts 'great' ties

Former Rangers striker Michael Moles reckons Alfredo Morelos can be the difference between two of his old sides.

Mols also starred for Feyenoord and ended his career in Rotterdam and is a big fan of the Colombian at Ibrox.

Steven Gerrard's side face the Dutch cracks in their first game in the group stages and will also face Young Boys and Porto in their section.

Mols spent five years at Ibrox and retired ten years ago at the age of 38.

And he's warned his homeland club that Rangers will provide them with a huge test when they meet for the first time on September 19.

He said: "Steven Gerrard has installed a certain mentality in the team - it's a winning mentality.

"And with the Rangers fans behind them, they are very passionate. It's a real struggle for opposing teams. That's why it is very difficult to play there.

"Rangers also have a very smart striker called Alfredo Morelos. He is their danger man. But they also have Jermain Defoe to call on - a striker who is getting older, but still has top qualities.

"It's great for me personally that two of my old clubs have been drawn together. I can't wait for the games.

"There's going to be a great atmosphere and the Feyenoord fans will enjoy their visit a lot. Glasgow is such a great city and it's why I stayed there so long.

"Rangers supporters are football crazy. For them, football is their life.

"During the week, they prefer to wear their Rangers clothing rather than normal clothes. That's unheard of in the Netherlands.

"But that's the way they are brought up."
