Michael McGovern hailed as the 'Norfolk Buffon' after match-winning save

Michael McGovern is fast becoming a bit of a cult figure at Norwich City.

The Northern Ireland goalkeeper has certainly seized his opportunity after coming in to replace the injured Tim Krul last month, and has started the last six Championship game for the Canaries.

Nowich have won their last four games with the 36-year-old in nets, a run that has sent the Canaries three points clear at the top of the table.

McGovern played a crucial role in last night's win against Reading, pulling off a brilliant fingertip save to deny Michael Olise's free-kick in the dying seconds of the game.

His performances have drawn comparisons with legendary Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, as the video below shows:

Fan page The Norwich City captured the drama of the superb save as the Canaries held out for an important win.

McGovern has grown a cult status since joining Norwich from Hamilton back in 2016 following his displays at the Euros that year.
