The former Swansea manager Michael Laudrup is set to sign a contract extension with Qatari champions Lekhwiya SC, his agent has confirmed.
Laudrup, 50, had been linked with the vacant managerial positions at both Newcastle and West Ham after guiding Lekhwiya to a league and cup double in his first season.
However, with the former Danish international reportedly earning more than £3m-a-year in Doha, his representative Bayram Tutumlu has confirmed Laudrup will stay in his current post.
“Michael Laudrup after thinking several offers had to end has decided to sign one year contract with his former club Lekhwiya Fc,” Tutumlu wrote on Twitter.

Newcastle initially included Laudrup on the shortlist to become their new manager but decided against speaking to him, according to reports.
