Michael Kerr murder investigation leads to arrest of man in Birmingham

A man has been arrested in Birmingham by detectives investigating the death of a Bangor man last year.

The body of Michael 'Mike' Kerr, 68, was discovered inside his Bangor home on Tuesday, November 19.

Following his death the PSNI launched a murder investigation and issued a public appeal for information.

Police have confirmed today they have arrested a man, aged 50, in Birmingham on suspicion of murder.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Detectives from the Major Investigation Team investigating the murder of 68-year-old Michael Kerr, who was discovered inside his Bangor home last year, on Tuesday, 19 November, have arrested a man in Birmingham on suspicion of murder.

"The man, aged 50, has been taken to Musgrave Custody where he is currently being questioned."
