Michael Jordan, Trey Hopkins win Bengals starting jobs for Week 1

Cincinnati Bengals rookie guard Michael Jordan will start at left guard and Trey Hopkins will start at center during Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks.

With the newcomer and veteran getting the nods under the supervision of a new coaching staff, that leaves 2018 first-round pick Billy Price as a backup to start the regular season.

Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com confirmed the moves, which doesn’t come as much of a surprise based on what each of these three players put on film this offseason.

Jordan, a mid-round pick and lifelong Bengals fan, outplayed everyone at left guard and only had some expected rookie inconsistencies.

Hopkins is a veteran who stepped in last year at center for the injured Price and the line didn’t suffer for it.

As for Price, he’s working through what is reportedly plantar fasciitis. He’ll be the first linemen off the bench for any interior spot.
