Michael Jordan takes over Hornets' account and a Twitter star is born

Oct. 28--NBA legend Michael Jordan seems to be good at everything he tries, or at least he's always entertaining.

M.J. took what he said was his first crack at social media Tuesday when he ran the Twitter account of the Charlotte Hornets, the team he owns.

The Hornets, formerly the New Orleans Pelicans, open the regular season at home against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday.

I'M BACK! ...just kidding LOL. Trying out social media for the first time and sharing my day with you. Ready? #MJTakeover

-- Charlotte Hornets (@hornets) October 28, 2014

The Hall of Famer even took a selfie to make sure people knew it was really him running the account. Jordan appeared to be having a ball, taking viewers all around the Time Warner Cable Arena.

Yes, it's really me doing this #MJTakeover pic.twitter.com/C7fa9EmZLB

It didn't take long for #MJTakeover to trend as people got an inside look at the players, staff and facility as they prepare for the start of the regular season.

Do you think I am serious about the new Hornets colors? #HornetsJs #MJTakeover pic.twitter.com/qTgBoeiucS

Can't decide where I should sit for tomorrow's home opener... suite? Or courtside? #MJTakeover pic.twitter.com/DxxCXBRqnN

I see a lot of messy lockers in our new locker room... smh. At least Al has the right shoes #TakeFlight #MJTakeover pic.twitter.com/7YUydu4E3z

-- Charlotte Hornets (@hornets) October 28, 2014

Jordan took time to exchange some zings with another professional athlete who noticed he was running the account.

.@Keegan_Bradley Last time I looked, you were wearing MY shoes. You don't see me wearing Air Keegans...

-- Charlotte Hornets (@hornets) October 28, 2014

And Jordan didn't sub-tweet the media -- he just addressed them directly.

Talking Hornets basketball w/media. I dare them to ask a question I've never been asked LOL #daretodream #MJTakeover pic.twitter.com/XVH5vaVjW7
