CHICAGO _ The nostalgia surrounding Michael Jordan and the 1990s Chicago Bulls has reached an all-time high, and it should come as no surprise that has extended to the sneaker market.
The Jordan 1 "Chicago" is one of the most iconic colorways in the Air Jordan sneaker line, and the resale value has spiked now that the shoe has hit its 35th anniversary and "The Last Dance" documentary on the 1997-98 Bulls season is airing on ESPN. A new pair of the sneakers can be found on third-party websites for as much as $1,100.
That craze could reach another level over the next 10 days: An original, game-worn and signed pair of the Jordan 1 "Chicago" from 1985 hit the market with Sotheby's Auction House at noon Friday.
The sneaker Jordan wore as a Bulls rookie is expected to fetch between $100,000 and $150,000, according to a Sotheby's press release. If you want to own a piece of history _ and have deep pockets _ bidding on the sneaker runs through May 17.
