Michael Jackson fans' fury as new musical says sex abuse is down to glove shaped aliens

Michael Jackson fans are furious after the announcement of a new musical with a bizarre plot about the sex abuse allegations made against him.

For the Love of A Glove presents an alternate universe in which the alleged abuse against young boys, which his estate has continued to deny, was actually committed by the Thriller singer's famous glove, which is an alien in disguise.

The plot revolves around the idea that the glove can give people magical singing talent but can only survive if it drinks "virgin boy blood".

Unsurprisingly this has caused a lot of upset amongst Jacko's fans, who branded it "insensitive" and "ridiculous".

One person tweeted: "This is the most stupid crazy unbelievable thing I have ever heard of! Omg @THR confirmed this nonsense? What is the world coming to. Ridiculous."

Another posted: "I'm just not sure the most sensitive way to go is blaming it all on a glove-shaped alien that forced him to feed upon virgin boys."

A third ranted: "That is tasteless and classless to want to produce or associate with a comedy that basically mocks #michaeljackson for being falsely accused and extorted out of money!"

In controversial documentary Leaving Neverland Wade Robson and James Safechuck both claimed Jackson abused them as children.

According to the musical's writer Julien Nitzberg it will be a chance for former fans of the singer to "process the trauma" of finding out about the accusations made against him.

Nitzberg told The Hollywood Reporter: "I think there's a collective trauma of everyone who grew up as a Jackson 5 fan and a Michael fan.

"This is a way to process that in a fun way while helping people understand all of the really f***** up stuff that affected Michael's life."

The characters in the show, which include Jackson 5, Donny Osmond and Bubbles the Chimp, will be played by puppets.

It was initially reported that Johnny Depp was producing the musical, which his reps have now denied.
