Michael Gault laughs off 'butcher' verdict in hilarious Facebook memory post

He was known as a no-nonsense, tough-tackling midfielder who showed no mercy on opponents.

Assessing Gault's qualities ahead of a second qualifying round tie between FC Copenhagen and Crusaders, former editor-in-chief of Bold DK, Jesper Helmin, pointed out the number of bookings Gault had received the previous season.

He even went as far as labelling the midfield general as 'En slagter' - 'A butcher'.

That game was on July 19, 2016, and appeared on Gault's Facebook memories which he shared with his followers this week.

Using some form of online translator, the midfielder showed a rough translation of Helmin's tweet.

It read: "Keep an eye on Michael Gault for Crusaders today. Defensive middle. Received 17 yellow cards in 29 matches last season. A butcher."

Copenhagen went on to win the game 6-0 in their home leg, which came a week after they claimed a 3-0 victory at Seaview.

For the record, Gault didn't get booked in either game...
