President Donald Trump's former national security adviser appeared to take aim at Hillary Clinton and her affiliation with Harvey Weinstein after the disgraced Hollywood mogul surrendered to authorities in New York Friday morning to face several sexual assault charges.
Michael Flynn, who has mostly remained out of the spotlight since pleading guilty to lying to the FBI about his Russian contacts last year, shared an old photo of Weinstein seated between Clinton and her longtime aide Huma Abedin at Planned Parenthood's 100th anniversary gala in May 2017.
The tweet, which was deleted within 30 minutes, was captioned with nonsense: "Dgfffcf."
Shortly after, Michael Flynn Jr. said his father's account was hacked and that they're "currently addressing" the situation.
When the Weinstein scandal broke in the fall, the Republican National Committee called on Democrats to return funds contributed by the 65-year-old film executive, previously a big-time Democratic donor.
Since the 1992 election cycle, Weinstein and his family has given more than $1.4 million in political contributions, nearly all of it to Democratic lawmakers, according to NBC.
Weinstein's perp walk Friday comes nearly six months after Flynn walked into federal court on charges that he lied to the FBI.
The former general, who served as Trump's national security adviser for 24 days, admitted to misleading the FBI over a pair of conversations he had with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak in December 2016.
As part of his plea agreement, Flynn has agreed to cooperate fully with special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian interference in the recent presidential election.
