Michael Duberry highlights his Leeds United concern which could be Whites' 'Achilles heel'

Former Leeds United defender Michael Duberry believes there is a chance his old side could suffer a burnout during the 2020/21 season.

The Whites have begun their return to the Premier League in an ideal way by winning three of their opening six matches. Leeds have beaten the likes of Fulham, Sheffield United and Aston Villa and pulled off a draw at home to Manchester City.

There is a good chance that the Whites could push for a spot in the top half of the table let alone just aim to stay in the division. But Duberry is quick to point to previous burnouts in the Championship as a key issue of concern for Marcelo Bielsa's men later in the campaign.

"Their Achilles heel could be that to play the high pressing style over 38 games is a big ask for any team," Duberry told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport.

"If they can maintain that, great, but when it comes to the back end of February you worry about whether they might suffer a burnout.

"In the Championship campaigns they have endured that and this is the creme de la creme. If they can't sustain that high performance, it could be their Achilles heel."

Leeds take on Leicester City tomorrow night at Elland Road in the Monday Night Football clash on Sky Sports. The Foxes might be favourites with the bookies to win the contest but pundits aplenty have been backing Bielsa's side to prevail.
