Renowned actor Michael Douglas recently made a solidarity visit to Kibbutz Be’eri in Israel, a community that suffered greatly in the aftermath of the Oct. 7 Hamas attack that triggered Israel’s conflict with the militant group.

During his visit, Douglas met with members of the kibbutz and witnessed the devastation caused by the attack, including burnt-out homes and the loss of approximately 100 lives, with 30 individuals being taken hostage.

Expressing his empathy for the families of the hostages, Douglas also visited the site of a tragic music party where over 300 people lost their lives.

Israel’s President, Isaac Herzog, presented Douglas with symbolic tokens of solidarity, including an Israeli dog tag necklace and a yellow ribbon pin, representing support for the hostages still held by Hamas.

In a statement, Douglas acknowledged the profound impact of the recent events, expressing his hope for the safe release of the remaining hostages.

Furthermore, Douglas criticized pro-Palestinian demonstrators on American college campuses, alleging that many have been influenced by misinformation and lack of understanding.

“There is a concerning level of indoctrination and ignorance among some of these protesters,” Douglas remarked.

Notably, Douglas joins a growing list of American public figures who have visited Israel and toured the southern region near the Gaza border following the Oct. 7 attack.
