Michael Cuisance has the final word on his failed transfer to Leeds

Michael Cuisance has insisted he did not fail his medical at Leeds.

Cuisance was set to join Leeds for £18million from Bayern Munich and had agreed terms on a five-year deal when the transfer unexpectedly fell through at the last minute.

Leeds never commented on the reasons why the deal collapsed and it was reported that the midfielder’s medical revealed a problem with his one of his feet.

Cuisance, 21, subsequently joined Marseille on loan for the rest of the season before the transfer window closed and successfully came through his medical checks with the Ligue 1 side.

The French Under-20 international insists he is fully fit and says he is still baffled why his move to Leeds fell through.

“There were no problems with the medical visit,” he said. “I had one in Marseille and it went really well.

“There was no problem on my end. After that, I don’t know any more. Here I passed it and I am in good shape.”

Marseille have the option to make Cuisance’s move permanent in the summer and their head of football Pablo Longoria claims he had no issues passing their medical.

Longoria claims they are looking forward to seeing Cuisance in action after the international break and he has only managed 18 minutes so far this season.

“We did not find any issues with his medical,” he said.

“Everything was done properly. He is completely available at 100 per cent.”
