Michael Cuisance breaks silence on Leeds United medical issue after Marseille transfer

New Marseille signing Michael Cuisance has disputed the suggestion that he failed a medical at Leeds United after concluding his exit from Bayern Munich.

The 21-year-old was set for a move to the Whites from the Bundesliga champions last week before the plug was pulled on the proposed transfer, with reports suggesting that he had failed a medical.

However, Bayern refuted that claim and Cuisance had the opportunity to issue his own verdict on the reports after his unveiling at the Stade Velodrome.

“There was no problem with the medical examination. I spent one in Marseille and it went very well," he told a press conference.

"There was no problem on my side. Afterwards, I don't know more. Here I spent it and I'm in good shape."

Cuisance's loan move to Marseille was concluded three days after the collapse of his proposed transfer to the Premier League, which was reportedly worth around £20m.

His spell with Marseille has the option of being made permanent next summer and he'll hope to increase his first-team opportunities, having made 10 appearances for Bayern last season.
