The former Ireland head coach said they’d be ready if they get the nod for the qualifiers which will also feature Cuba this year.

The Americas were due to begin in Buenos Aires last month but were postponed because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Argentina could still run the tournament, but the USA has a launched a strong bid to host the qualifiers at their base in Colorado.

The Africa and Asia/Oceania qualifiers are complete, but Europe and the Americas have yet to be concluded.

The European qualifiers were postponed on March 16 because of the Covid-19 crisis with 16 of the 77 places claimed after three days of competition.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) said the Euro qualifiers would resume where they stopped, probably in late 2020.

Nine Irish boxers, including 2018 World champion Kellie Harrington, will still be in play when the competition recommences.

Harrington meets Polish lightweight Aneta Rygielska, whom she beat in January, two wins away from automatic qualification for the 32nd Olympiad.
