Irish boxer Michael Conlan has mischievously shown his support for Italy ahead of their Euro 2020 final against England on Sunday.
Standing in front of the gates of Buckingham Palace in London, the Belfast man wore his Antrim GAA jersey and played "Il Canto degli Italiani" - the Italian national anthem.
Captioning the post on Instagram "Forza Italia", the 29-year-old left no doubt about who he would be supporting in Sunday's final.
Conlan is gearing up for an all-Irish showdown with Portlaoise’s TJ Doheny at Féile an Phobail in Falls Park, Belfast, on 6 August.
The former Olympic bronze medallist has a perfect professional record of 15 victories without defeat and is eyeing a world title shot.
“I’m excited to be back fighting in my city,” said Conlan. “It was special in 2019, but I believe this year it will be even better as we haven’t had live events due to the pandemic. On 6 August, we will show Belfast is back.
"It will be an honour to share the ring with TJ. I have a lot of respect for him and his achievements. I believe it’s my toughest fight to date, and with that, I will make my biggest statement in my quest to become a world champion."
