Michael Conlan accuses Sofiane Takoucht of being a 'dirty wee b*****d'

Michael Conlan has accused Sofiane Takoucht of being a “dirty wee b*****d” following Saturday’s featherweight clash.

Conlan took his pro record to 14-0 following an impressive 10th round stoppage, above, despite being docked two points for low blows in the fourth and fifth rounds in London.

In the first round, the wily Takoucht – who was knocked out in two rounds by Josh Warrington in October – threw a shoulder into the Belfast boxer’s head.

“He was a dirty wee b*****d,” Conlan told Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions.

“He was smart and was doing some old man tactics and some tricks of the trade. I said I was going to get him late, not rush it, so I’m delighted.”

On being docked two points for low blows, Conlan said: “They weren’t on purpose, they were accidental and I kind of need to work on that.”

Of a potential world title scrap at super bantamweight level in 2021, Conlan insists he doesn’t mind who he fights on the near horizon.

Meeting the winner of WBO super bantamweight champion Angelo Leo and Stephen Fulton, who are poised to fight later this year, is one option.

Asked what sort of message he had sent out to Leo and Fulton, he replied: “I don’t give a f*** what they think – I’m going to beat them ones.”
