Michael Cohen Reveals Covert Communication Between Giuliani And Trump

On June 13, 2018, an email exchange between Robert Costello and Michael Cohen revealed a potentially covert communication strategy involving Rudy Giuliani and President Trump. In the email, Costello informed Cohen that his friend, later identified as Giuliani, was meeting with his client that evening and offered to convey any messages from Cohen during the discussion.

During questioning, Cohen confirmed that the 'friend' mentioned in the email was indeed Giuliani, and the client referred to was President Trump. Cohen clarified the identities by stating, 'Donald J Trump — President Trump.'

When asked why Costello didn't directly mention Giuliani and Trump in the email, Cohen explained that the use of coded language was intentional to maintain a sense of secrecy and operate through backchannels. He described the communication as 'I-spy-ish,' suggesting a level of clandestine behavior.

The email exchange sheds light on the behind-the-scenes interactions and potential covert methods employed by individuals connected to President Trump. The use of intermediaries and indirect references in the communication raises questions about the nature of the discussions and the motives behind such covert tactics.
