UFC star Michael Chandler has said a bout with Conor McGregor would be 'electrifying' for the fans.
Chandler, 35, is currently preparing for his fight with Justin Gaethje at UFC 268 on November 6. Should he prevail, Chandler could well have a shot at undisputed UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira.
Defeat meanwhile, is likely to render him out of the title picture for the immediate future but regardless, Chandler is already confident of a huge match-up in 2022.
And his plans involve 'The Notorious', who has been out of his action since breaking his leg in his defeat to Dustin Poirier in July.

Chandler fuelled rumours on Twitter on Tuesday, when @hustleandbeyond posted "Recipe to make the most electric first round in #UFC. Conor McGregor v Michael Chandler."
The American responded with "After I take care of business November 6."
Then in an interview with Helen Yee Sports , 'Iron' was asked about the prospect of fighting the injured Irish star, and suggested the pair could put on a show to remember.
"And, yeah, I mean, Conor, you know, hope he heals up pretty well," he said.
"But yeah, there’s a lot of people that have talked about me and Conor fighting for a very long time. I do think it will be one of the most electrifying, especially first rounds, ever.
"We will both come in 100 miles an hour and see, you know, see who gets that win. But, you know, we’ll see. I hope that fight happens sometime.”
McGregor, 33, won't be short of potential opponents when he does return to action next year, with a bout with Chandler now in the mix as well as a fourth fight with Poirier, or a trilogy clash with Nate Diaz.

He's even been called out by fighters in other combat sports, with Muay Thai kickboxer Superbon Banchamek wanting a mixed-rules match-up with the Dubliner, while YouTuber Jake Paul has regularly taunted him about a potential boxing bout.
McGregor though, has two fights left on his current UFC contract, so it is highly unlikely his next action will come outside of the octagon.
As for Chandler, for now his primary focus will be on Gaethje, 32, with the pair both looking to settle a long-standing war of words when they meet at Madison Square Garden.
