Michael Buble set for RTE Late Late Show return to say goodbye to long-time pal Ryan Tubridy

Canadian superstar Michael Buble is set to return to the Late Late Show this week.

The five-time Grammy award winner will grace the couch with friend Ryan Tubridy one last time, with his visit last April shocking viewers when he showed up disguised as an audience member to surprise a newly engaged couple.

He had helped set the couple up originally during his visit to the studio in 2018, when he handed David O'Reagan a ring box who then got down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend Ashley Kiely live on air.

RTÉ confirmed the upcoming appearance, stating: "Michael Bublé is confirmed to join host Ryan Tubridy on this Friday night’s Late Late Show."

The North American star, who has sold 75 million records globally, is a big fan of the show, with Tubridy previously telling listeners on his RTÉ Radio 1 morning programme how the singer hit it off with his own mother backstage.

He described the Crazy Love singer as "the nicest person he has had on the show."

"So sure enough he came up and he met my mother... She saw him and said 'Michael,' took him by his head and said, 'It's younger you're getting.'

"He gave her a hug and we had a great old chat, and I have the loveliest photographs of it all. It was so nice. He's a nice guy. Really good egg," Tubridy said earlier this year.

The father-of-four is currently on a UK tour, which comes to a finish this Thursday in Birmingham. He is set to play the 3Arena this coming Saturday and Sunday, May 13-14, following his appearance on the Late Late.

"Michael will be appear on The Late Late Show this Friday night to say goodbye to his long-time friend Ryan Tubridy, who is due to finish up as host of the prestigious TV show in coming weeks," a tour promoter stated.
