Michael Bublé serenaded in Cardiff Bay restaurant before joining in

Superstar singer Michael Bublé found himself part of am impromptu sing-along when he visited a Cardiff restaurant this week. The Canadian performer was in the Welsh capital on Thursday, May 4, ahead of his performance at the Cardiff International Arena as part of his 20th-anniversary tour.

And during his time in the city, the singer shared a clip on his Instagram account from what appears to be Demiros restaurant in Cardiff Bay where he was being serenaded by some of the restaurant staff. He started the clip by saying "and then this happened in a restaurant I visited" and showed a member of staff walking around the tables singing Dean Martin's That's Amore.

In a hat and sunglasses, he said "I had no idea that was coming" before ending the short clip showing himself joining in with the performer with none other than a rendition of Sweet Caroline.

While he may have been surprised by the impromptu performance, he is no stranger to Wales, with this trip being his second in a year after performing in the Castle last summer. Nevertheless, he still needed some inspiration as to how to spend some downtime in the city and earlier in the week asked his 2.1 Twitter followers for some advice.

The It's a Beautiful Day singer wrote: "Instead of “Googling” I’m going to take it to Twitter. Day off in Cardiff, what should I do?" And the replies came pouring in, with locals effusing about brilliant things to do around the capital as well as further afield.

Bublé had no shortage of recommendations, from requests to visit local schools, head down west for the day and pick up some Welsh cakes at the central market. One destination did stand out, though, as many people encouraged him to pop to St Fagans National Museum of History - which details the Welsh lifestyle, culture and architecture.

One responder, Wayne Courtney, gave Bubs a whole schedule within the Twitter character limit, with a few song puns chucked in for good measure, writing: "It’s A Beautiful Day (hey hey) so head over St Fagans and if your Feeling Good take a stroll along the Taff Trail. I know that @JAYFABPAGE Haven’t Met You Yet so drop into @thebotanistuk for top notch grub & cocktails. Nip over to @MarysCardiff but Save The Last Dance For Me!"

He wasn't the only one suggesting St Fagans with Tomos Evans tweeting: "How about a visit to @StFagans_Museum ? Great way to find about the history of Cymru Or if the weather’s nice a stroll down the seafront in Penarth or Cardiff Bay?"
