Michael Beale targets Rangers 'next level' signings as he insists new Ibrox trophy era has arrived

Rangers coach Michael Beale has roared that the club's 55th title is only the start of a trophy dynasty in Govan.

The 40-year-old has watched his charges develop over the three years he has worked under boss Steven Gerrard, culminating in this season's title glory.

But he's adamant that they haven't stopped their evolution yet - and insists more success is in the offing.

And Beale admits that new players will arrive in the summer as the Ibrox management team look to build on the foundations they have laid this season.

He told RangersTV : "There's five games available in the Scottish Cup and you have to win the right to play in every one of them and there's another trophy (at stake).

"So there is lots for us to play for.

"Also we are evolving all the time as a team. When you are at the top and champions teams have the opportunity to take your unbeaten record but they also have the chance to start causing you some problems.

"We are evolving and adapting. The good news for us is that the Rangers you see today is only just the start. Winning the league was just the start. It wasn't the end point it was just the start of us going on a dominant run.

"That's what the staff are committed at and thats what we are challenging and provoking the players to push on to.

"And thats what we will be looking at when we go to add to the squad in the summer which I'm sure we will to take us to the next level. To reiterate, it's just the start."

Rangers face Cove Rangers on Sunday knowing a victory will take them into a tantalising fourth round Ibrox clash with bitter rivals Celtic.

And Beale insists his squad are in prime condition to face the challenges ahead.

He said: "If you play for a big club, April and May are the most important months because that's when the trophies are handed out.

"It's a surreal season because we have won the league so early, the earliest ever in March there, because you have to wait two and a half months for them to give you the trophy so there is an anti-climax in that sense but you train all year to be fit, healthy and at your best between April and May because you know that's when the trophies are handed out.

"There is nobody stopping here. The international break came at the right time for us to take a breath but come Cove Rangers coming to town we will be flying."
