Michael Beale reveals Steven Gerrard message as former Rangers boss given in-demand prediction

Michael Beale is confident Steven Gerrard and his staff will be 'highly sought after' following their departure from Aston Villa.

The former Rangers boss was sacked from his role at the English Premier League club following a poor run of results south of the border after big backing in the summer. Ex-Arsenal boss Unai Emery has since been announced as his successor with the former Ibrox No2 branding the new man at the helm as 'world-class'.

Beale - who is riding high in the English Championship with QPR - has already knocked back advances from Wolves as his stock continues to rise in his first role as the main man. He was always very highly thought of during his time at Rangers and revealed recently he knocked back seven or eight opportunities to leave the club to be a manager in his own right. The 42-year-old has revealed he sent to Gerrard and the staff he worked with following the news of their axing while he hopes the former Liverpool and England star can get back in the hot seat quickly and show everyone the quality he has as a coach.

He told Sky Sports News: "I sent him a message obviously after the news, but not just to Steven.

"The five or six staff who I worked with. Ultimately it is always sad when a manager loses his job.

"Ultimately it is the owners who run the club. They make the decision, they have made a swift decision.

"They have brought in a world-class manager in Unai Emery.

"When I was there I shared a bit of the frustration that the Aston Villa fans have now.

"They should be higher up the table. Let's hope they can move on to that.

"I am sure Steven and the other guys will be highly sought after moving forward as well.

"I hope he gets back in quickly and shows everyone the quality that he has as a coach."
