Michael Beale reveals Nicolas Raskin Rangers injury latest as Celtic sweat addressed with timeline

Michael Beale has confirmed Nicolas Raskin will NOT make Saturday's clash with Dundee United.

The young Belgian pulled up just prior to the international break and did not feature as Rangers saw off Motherwell. The 21-year-old has been important for the Light Blues but won't make the visit of Jim Goodwin's men. Beale went some way to allay fears, however, that the ex-Standard Liege man should be ready for a crucial double header with Celtic next month.

It appears Raskin has a 'slight thigh issue' but is expected to resume full training on Monday after doing some light training. We told of how the midfielder had used the break to visit a physiotherapist in his homeland, as he attempts to ramp up his recovery. Meanwhile young defender Leon King won't be fit.

Beale said: "We'll be missing Raskin, he will be returning to training next week. Next week, Raskin and Leon King should be available so we will get two more bodies back.

"We want three points this weekend, it is a manager that knows us well and our focus is on this match. We have been working on different things in training.

"It has been a good two weeks for Hagi, Souttar and Ridvan to get volume in the legs."

He added: "We are striving for stronger performances each week. I thought we had played well in the last few games.

"We are hungry to play and I would like to see us play better at Ibrox, our stronger performances have been away from home."
