Michael Beale opens up on Rangers future as Steven Gerrard's trusted lieutenant reveals managerial ambition

Highly-rated Michael Beale has aspirations to become a manager in the future after an impressive season with Rangers.

The coach is credited with playing a major role in bringing the title back to Ibrox and their improvement since Steven Gerrard became manager.

The 40-year-old has enjoyed joined Gerrard at Rangers from Liverpool after coaching spells at Chelsea and Brazilian side Sao Paulo.

Beale admits he wants to try his hand at management in the future but he's loving working as first-team coach under Gerrard with the Premiership champions.

He told the Transfer Ground Guru podcast: "It’s one hundred percent the aim, I don’t have a timeline because I am very happy.

“I feel, under Steven, like I’m a head coach because he gives the staff so much, we all coach the team.

“So I don’t feel the need or the urge to rush off and be a manager.

“I have lots of aims, one is to be a manager in the UK but ultimately be a manager overseas because that is my dream.

“I feel like I am only about five percent into my career, I feel it has only really started in the last two of three years.

“One hundred percent I want to be a manager one day but I have a very unique idea of where I want to be a manager.

“I don’t just want to be a manager in the Football League, I want to be a manager within Europe and in different countries. I am just exploring and learning with this game.”
