Michael Beale handed defiant Rangers backing by Kenny Miller

Kenny Miller has thrown his support behind Michael Beale at Rangers.

The former Gers striker insists he doesn't believe his time is up at the club despite a poor run of form at the start of the season.

Aberdeen prevailed as comfortable 3-1 winners at Ibrox on Saturday. The result saw the hosts fall seven points behind Celtic in the Premiership, and consigned Rangers to a third league defeat before September was out.

Fans have lost faith in the Englishman at the helm of the club, with performances and his recruitment also coming under some hefty scrutiny.

While Miller understands the frustrations of supporters, he insists Beale should be afforded some more time to turn the club's fortunes around and even win the league.

Speaking to BBC Sportsound, he said: "There have been three losses in seven games and everybody knows that's not good enough. That form is not going to win you the league. It's a long way back after this but I don't think his time is up.

"Everybody will understand that the performances and results have not been good enough but there is a healthy injury list there that needs to be addressed.

"I'm sure their next international break can't come quick enough for Michael (Beale) and his medical team.

"Yes they've had four wins on the bounce but that came to a stunning halt yesterday when Aberdeen walked into town.

"Michael's right, you can't be losing these games, particularly at home against teams like Aberdeen.

"I agree with what he said in relation to the game, it could've been out of sight in the first ten minutes.

"But when you're not taking the chances you allow Aberdeen to stay in the game.

"When you look over it and analyse that game there will be a lot, particularly in that first half that Michael would have liked.

"But he knows exactly what the demands are and the expectations of this club and you need to be winning. But I don't think it's time up at this moment."
