Michael Beale and the 2 Rangers problems he MUST fix as pundit lays out roadmap to success

Michael Beale has been told he needs to bring back energy and an identity as one of his first Rangers tasks.

The new boss at Ibrox has replaced Giovanni van Bronckhorst in the hotseat and his tenure gets underway when Hibs come to Govan on Premiership business on December 15th. Before that he will have a couple weeks of training time with his squad amid the World Cup break, and former goalkeeper Cammy Bell can already see two areas he'll need to work on.

Previously playing Rangers before retiring, the 36-year-old told Clyde 1 Superscoreboard that energy that has been lacking and a developed style of play will be crucial if they are to have any hopes of clawing back a nine-point gap Celtic have made in first. Bell explained: "He has to be positive about the job he has taken on. He has to use the players at his disposal before the January window comes.

"They can't afford to drop any more points at all. There are players there underperforming and the manager needs to get the best out of them.

"There were players playing at a real high level last season who can get to that level, but just haven't done it this season.

"I believe there's players who can get to a higher level. Michael Beale says they need energy and have to find an identity, and that's two things I definitely think Rangers have to find.

"They need to find that identity again and their energy this season has been nowhere near what last season was. They don't look as fit. There's loads of small things Michael Beale can change in a short period of time.
