Michael Barrymore's online remake of Strike It Lucky flops with just 152 viewers

Michael Barrymore 's online version of Strike It Lucky has reportedly flopped with just 152 viewers tuning in.

The 67-year-old television personality used to attract millions of viewers when he hosted the classic game show between 1986 and 1999.

In recent weeks, Michael has been hosting an online version that he recorded from his home in an attempt to tease back fans.

Using a miniature board game version, the television presenter fronted a number of live Instagram Stories as he played the game with viewers.

Although the television host initially garnered an audience of over 5000, according to The Sun his latest show saw just 152 people tune in.

One fan of the show said on social media: "Barrymore was invited on This Morning to play a game of Strike It Lucky on Wednesday.

"His viewing figures went up to over 300. He's managed to halve that by Friday."

A representative for Michael has been contacted for comment.

During the nineties, Michael had become a household name and hosted a number of television shows including Kids Do The Funniest Things and Barrymore.

However, his television career came to an abrupt halt in 2001 when Stuart Lubbock, 31, was found dead in the star's pool during a party.

The former television star faced controversy over the mysterious circumstances surrounding the man's death, but was later cleared of all suspicion.

However, ITV still axed Michael's £1million-a-year contract in 2002.

Following the controversy, Michael has appeared in celebrity reality shows such as Big Brother and Come Dine With Me.

Michael was also due to compete in Dancing On Ice in 2020 but was forced to step down after accidentally breaking his wrist during rehearsals.

Earlier this year, the presenter also appeared on Good Morning Britain following a Channel 4 documentary into the death of Stuart Lubbock, called Barrymore: The Body In The Pool.
